The hard wearing and ultra-high maintenance application of ballast brushing, is given a lift through our unique and proven design technology.

Derby’s extruded, semi-solid bristles are made from a superior rubber compound that lasts up to three times as long as standard hollow bristles and twice as long as cheaper imitations, many of which consist of a glued-in plug that falls out after a few hours of work.

Our specially developed formulation, combined with innovative production techniques have enabled Derby Rubber to flourish in many export markets, and is represented by stock holding distributors in the USA, Canada, Finland, Sweden and Japan.

Derby Rubber has developed and introduced the following products to the market:

• The Solid and Hollow Ballastick®, a range of revolutionary new broom elements that extend the wear life by 60% over conventional hollow brooms.
• The C3, a quick-change clamp used to fasten broom elements to the rotating brush of the ballast regulator machine. The C3 makes it easier to change worn broom elements while reducing the risk of injury to the operator.

Derby Rubber’s track record speaks for itself, with our office and warehouse in The Netherlands servicing and supplying the European rail sector since 2002.
