Fire Recovery

Fire Recovery Update: August 28. The past six months have been an incredible journey for Derby Rubber. The majority of our product lines are now back online and we have fulfilled many local and export orders from our new site in Wingfield, SA. Commissioning activities are still underway to expand our capabilities and capacity. We are open for business.

On the night of Sunday February 17, 2019 Derby Rubber was the victim of a targeted arson attack. Damage to the building and stock was extensive and some processing equipment was destroyed. If it were not for the quick actions of the NSW Police and NSW Fire and Rescue, who happened to be passing by that evening, then the outcome would have been much worse.

After 55 years on our original site, it has been a heart-wrenching experience for us all.

We have been overwhelmed by the support and offers of assistance from fellow businesses in overcoming this tragedy. By working with a selection of them we have been able to maintain manufacturing some of our product lines whilst we relocate our equipment to new premises.

We also wish to acknowledge the patience of our loyal customers. We want to reassure you that we are recovering ahead of our initial expectations and we look forward to bringing you another update very soon.

We will HAVE overcome this.
